Rush makes a great point about Planned Parenthood: "Planned Parenthood makes its money, and a lot of it, performing abortions -- and what do they need for that to happen?  They need premarital sex. They need unwanted pregnancies.  Planned Parenthood lives off of unwanted pregnancies.  Now, you may be offended, but I'm telling you: As a matter of fact, it is unarguable.  They would be out of business if there were no unwanted pregnancies -- and the more of them the better, as far as Planned Parenthood's concerned."  He’s exactly right.  Planned Parenthood wants as much fornication, adultery—pre- and extra-marital sex—as possible so they can get more government money advising women to murder their unborn children. Only the ACLU rivals Planned Parenthood in its utterly unChristian values.  Of course, an awful lot of modern liberalism is about sex, anyway.  Virtually unrestrained sex, hatred of Christianity because of its restrictions, and abortions and welfare to satiate the consequences.  Most of which is paid for by hard-working, honest Americans who play by the rules and are faithful in their marriage vows.  Liberals have absolutely no conscience.

Have you noticed how the media and establishment Republicans have ratcheted up their attacks lately on Rick Santorum? They are really after him now. Romney must be the nominee. And I’m holding to my prediction that he will be. The savaging of Mitt Romney by the "mainstream media" will come after he gets the nomination, not before. Right now, their mission is to destroy Rick Santorum. Their attacks are beginning to have an effect, too.  He's been leading in the Michigan primary polls, but Romney is catching up and will likely win.

Michelle Obama is currently on her 16th vacation in three years. One month after her Hawaiian vacation, she is skiing in Aspen, Colorado. All at taxpayer expense, of course. The Obamas need a permanent vacation. Let’s hope the American people give them one.

Gas prices are $4.93 in Los Angeles.  But Michelle is on her 16th vacation...no conscience...

Most of you are probably now familiar with what happened recently in North Carolina: “A preschooler at West Hoke Elementary School ate three chicken nuggets for lunch Jan. 30 because a state employee told her the lunch her mother packed was not nutritious. The girl’s turkey and cheese sandwich, banana, potato chips and apple juice did not meet US Department of Agriculture guidelines, according to the interpretation of the agent who was inspecting all lunch boxes in her More at Four classroom that day."  So the kid had to eat what the bureaucrat told her to eat. The government knows best.

An education system in the hands of the government produces educators like Debbie Squires, who is the associate director of the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association. Recently, she testified before the Michigan legislature. This conversation ensued:

SQUIRES: You know, educators go through education for a reason. They are the people who know best about how to serve children. That's not necessarily true of an individual resident. I'm not saying they don't want the best for their children, but they may not know what actually is best from an education standpoint.

MICHIGAN REPRESENTATIVE: Wow, parents don't know what's best for their child?

SQUIRES: I said they may want what's best for their child. They may not know.

What Squires has done, whether she realizes it or not, is indict her own system. Because if the parents don’t know…who didn’t teach them what they ought to know? Those parents who don't know what's best for their children have been in her hands for more than a generation now. Longer than that, actually.

Here’s what the last 50 years of liberal government-run education has given us. From Walter Williams’ February 15 article “Rising Black Social Pathology”:

“The Philadelphia Inquirer’s big story Feb. 4 was about how a budget crunch at the Philadelphia School District had caused the district to lay off 91 school police officers. Over the years, there’s been no discussion of what has happened to our youth that makes a school police force necessary in the first place. The Inquirer’s series “Assault on Learning” (March 2011) reported that in the 2010 school year, ‘690 teachers were assaulted; in the last five years, 4,000 were.’ The newspaper reported that in Philadelphia’s 268 schools, ‘on an average day 25 students, teachers, or other staff members were beaten, robbed, sexually assaulted, or victims of other violent crimes. That doesn't even include thousands more who are extorted, threatened, or bullied in a school year.’

I graduated from Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin High School in 1954. Franklin’s students were from the poorest North Philadelphia neighborhoods -- such as the Richard Allen housing project, where I lived -- but there were no policemen patrolling the hallways. There were occasional after-school fights -- rumbles, we called them -- but within the school, there was order. Students didn’t use foul language to teachers, much less assault them.

How might one explain the greater civility of Philadelphia and other big-city, predominantly black schools during earlier periods compared with today? Would anyone argue that during the '40s and '50s, back when Williams attended Philadelphia schools, there was less racial discrimination and poverty and there were greater opportunities for blacks and that’s why academic performance was higher and there was greater civility? Or how about "in earlier periods, there was more funding for predominantly black schools"? Or how about "in earlier periods, black students had more black role models in the forms of black principals, teachers and guidance counselors"? If such arguments were to be made, it would be sheer lunacy. If white and black liberals and civil rights leaders want to make such arguments, they'd best wait until those of us who lived during the '40s and '50s have departed the scene.”

Government educators can force a 4-year old to eat chicken nuggets (are those healthy?), but they cannot stop violence in schools.

And this from America’s beloved President:

October 7, 2008: “I think everybody knows now we are in the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression.”

February 14, 2012: “Well, uh, we're not there because, uh, this recession turned out to be a lot deeper than any of us realized. Everybody who was out there back in 2009, uh, if you look back at what their estimates were in terms of how many jobs had been lost, how bad the economy had contracted when I took office, everybody underestimated it.”

So, today he doesn’t know how bad it was, but back in October, 2008, he did. This man is a child. He absolutely refuses to take any responsibility for anything.  He’s had three years now to do something positive, but nothing he has done has moved the economy in the right direction. But it’s all George Bush’s fault, of course.

But he’s close to getting what he wants, folks. He’s struggling, mightily, this year to get 50% of the population upon some form of government largesse. That’s all he needs to win re-election.

Destroy the military and build a welfare state. And the United States government-run education system is helping him.

Boy, that country is in bad shape. But, it's only to be expected after half a century of godless, liberal leadership. "Be not deceived; God is not mocked. For whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap" (Galatians 6:7). The only people who haven't a clue what's happening, or why, are those who don't know history and the Bible.

Folks, the liberal, government-run education system is doing exactly what the liberals want it to do: create uneducated, unskilled incompetents who will become dependent upon government. A government, of course, run by liberals.

Liberals who will, among other things, tell children what they can and cannot eat.

I wonder if I'll be dead before they start shooting people. Character assassination can only go so far, you know.

Current Events Ramblings, February 8

The American Founding Fathers called it tyranny. It's when the government overrides the will of the people and forces something on them that they do not want. The United States government is getting very good at it.

**********
A federal appeals court of three people overturned California's same-sex marriage ban. Three government judges override the will of the people. That’s tyranny. Even the people of California--California!!--have enough sense to know that marriage is between a man and a woman, and not between people of the same sex. The appeals courts said the ban was "unconstitutional." I would very much like for someone to show me anywhere in the Constitution where marriage is even mentioned. The men who wrote that document would never have dreamed that some degenerate "progressive" reprobates would try to utterly overthrow the traditions of history and the law of God--as well as the will of the people. It would never have been considered even as recently as 30 years ago. No, Clint, America is not at "halftime;" America is deep in the fourth quarter, and is losing badly because it continues to hand the ball off to blind, secular elites who respect and honor nothing but their own subjective, decadent morality, to whom the wisdom of the ages and the laws of the Almighty are just so much trash to be trampled upon and rejected as they see fit. The unbounded arrogance of such people would be startling, if it wasn't so disgusting.  Not to mention unbelievably dangerous, for if we allow people with no moral code higher than themselves to run the country, then whatever they perceive to be the best will be bound upon others.  That is the philosophy of Adolf Hitler, Vladimir Lenin, Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot, and the other atheistic mass murderers of the 20th century, to whom nothing was sacred beyond their own "progressive" revolutionary ideals--as interpreted by themselves.

And, not to be outdone in the tyranny department, it has recently become news that Obama's health care plan will force religious institutions to provide contraceptives and other birth control methods for their employees. The Catholic Church is up in arms about it. But, to Obama and the liberals, all must bow to the state, including God. You see, to liberalism, the state is their god...and abortion is their sacrament. I've talked before of the hatred liberalism has for such traditional institutions as the family and the church, and the decline of both in recent times is a direct consequence of liberal doctrine.  Any institution for which people have a higher allegiance than the state is an enemy of liberalism.  So, destroy modern marriage and undermine religion every chance you get.  It takes time to demolish something as old and well established as the family and religion, but liberals like Obama have made remarkable progress in doing so in the last generation.

It should be noted that, in one sense, the Catholic Church can take some of the blame because of its own policy.  Its schools accept federal money, and when that happens, you open the door to having the feds come in and dictate your actions.  It’s called…tyranny.  If you invite a thief with a gun into your home, don’t be surprised if he takes over and tries to steal everything you have.  But, don’t be too shocked if Obama backs off of this policy and gives some indulgences (pardon the pun) to the Catholic Church.  There are a lot of Catholics in the country (the Muslims oppose his policy, too, and they may have more influence on him than Catholics), but the key here is politics.  If Obama thinks enough Catholics will vote against him, he’ll repeal the policy.  If he thinks he can get away with it, then he’ll force the law down their throats.  It’s called…tyranny, folks.  The whole Obamacare scheme was passed against the will of the majority of the American people.

Oh, for freedom’s sake, we should note that the federal government has no business (or Constitutional authority) in either the health care or education industry.  Stay out of both, and let people make their own choices.  That’s what freedom is about.  But, again, freedom is not what liberals believe in.  Unless it’s the freedom to be as sexually immoral as possible.  That’s one “freedom” they can certainly rejoice in.

Rick Santorum is making a comeback in the Republican presidential race.  At least, he is today.  He has won the primaries in Minnesota, Missouri, and Colorado.  The wins in Minnesota and Colorado are a bit surprising, for those states are outside the redneck South.  Once again, the Republican people—not the elites—are letting it be known that Mitt Romney is not their choice.  Of the four remaining candidates, Santorum is the best option.  Newt Gingrich, for all his brilliance, is erratic in his brilliance and untrustworthy.  I used to like Ron Paul, and he might make a good President, but he has no chance, and I’m a little concerned that sometimes he takes his libertarianism too far.  Santorum is not perfect, but then again, only Jesus was.  But get ready now for the mud to fly, as liberals and establishment Republicans both will aim their guns at Rick Santorum.

Lunchtime ramblings...

The federal government's debt now stands at $15,356,140,000,000.  One-third of that has been amassed during the Obama administration.  All of that increase in the last three years--and the unemployment rate has gone up.  Only people who don't understand history and economics can't understand why.

74 people were killed and hundreds injured at the end of a soccer match in Egypt yesterday.  Apparently, the police just stood by and let it happen, but it has been suggested that Egypt's new government has been so roundly criticized for its harsh methods, that the police are under orders to back off.  I don't know if that's true or not, it was in the story I read about the riot.  Regardless, the more uncivilized people are, the more government they need to control them.  I will never weary of making the point--because it is true and needs to be repeated endlessly, until everybody hears it and knows it--that ever since Christianity has been on the decline in America, government has grown.  The more uncivilized people are, the more government they need to control them.  But, of course, to the "progressives", this is good.

According to one estimate, Mitt Romney outspent Newt Gingrich 65 to 1 in the Florida primary.  He won't have that edge in the general election.

There were 603 Chevy Volts sold in America in January.  That many?

American Airlines is cutting 13,000 jobs, but New York City is hiring people.  Government grows and the private sector dies.  Don't worry, the next two generations will pay for it all.  Oh, the new hirings in New York City were mostly for people to work in welfare offices.  Welfare.  This is what America has become?  Trace it back to Franklin Roosevelt, through Lyndon Johnson, to Barack Obama.  The Democratic Party.  And there's not a thing in the world anybody can do about it now...except watch it get worse.

**********
Barack Obama--surprise!--blames the banks for the housing crisis.  Not a word about the Clinton Justice Department threatening to "investigate" banks if they did not give more loans to minorities (i.e., people who couldn't pay them back), nor about the Federal Reserve artificially lowering interest rates below market levels to stimulate more "home ownership" among people who had no business buying one in the first place.  No, only the banks are at fault.  And while, certainly, banks share some of the blame--there are no perfect humans or institutions--I find it fascinating that, to Obama, it's never--NEVER--government's fault.  Well, with one exception--everything is George Bush's fault.  It was George Bush in the Garden of Eden who convinced Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit...

The current economic malaise was caused by the federal government's intervention into the economy, and it is being continued by an administration that insists on following policies that deter the private investment needed to spur economic growth.  Government cannot grow an economy; it can either assist, by protecting private property and providing the incentives (low taxes and minimal regulation) necessary for secure investment, or it can hinder, by unwarranted intervention into the private sector, stymieing investment and discouraging production.  The former type of government helped build the United States into the greatest economic power and the richest country the world has ever seen.  The latter kind of government is $15 trillion in debt and destroying the economic future of Americans, many of whom have not even been born yet.

But, money and envy buys votes and nobody knows that better than Democrats.  And more poverty means more people dependent upon government.  I'm going to keep repeating that, too.

Super Bowl weekend.  For what it's worth (nothing), my prediction:  the Giants will win, but it will be close.  They seem to have the momentum, and a psychological edge because they beat New England in the SB four years ago.  Frankly, I couldn't care less who won.  Actually, I hope they both lose.  Kinda like when the Yankees and Red Sox play...
